May 1st - CLHC girls play in Womens Vets! Sunday 30th April saw Leicestershire put a Women’s Vets team into the regional competition for the first time in many years. A mixture of players from both the Women’s and Mixed game came together and fought their way valiantly to the final. Staffordshire, the long term holders of the title, boasted a number of ex England and GB internationals but not to be outdone the girls fought to keep the score level at one each after a goal from Ali Goodyear at half time. Player of the game Liz Tabrum who kindly took the keepers pads pulled several brilliant saves off but after one slightly dubious strike on a PC (height) and a fantastic laser shot just inside the far post eventually the girls had to surrender to their opponents three to one. Team: Liz Tabrum (GK),Linzi Webster, Karen Setchell, Ali Goodger, Debs ‘dusty’ Mason, Sue Simpson (all Charnwood Ladies) – Jane Jackson, Annette Jones, Val Smith (Bedouins Mixed) – Sue Rainbow, Kim Shaw (Lutterworth Ladies), Tracey Yerrall (Leicester Thursday) and Annette Sellars (Leicester Mixed) March 7th 2006 - More pictures of us in action: www.janpan.co.uk/html/rhk051at.html
