Saturday 3rd November – Hinckley 3
Charnwood Sileby remain unbeaten this season after a 14-0 win against a brave Hinckley side that had only 9 players.
The home side had the perfect start after only 3 minutes when Mel Swidenbank raced clear of the Hinckley defence and calmly hit the ball past the keeper. Mel scored again two minutes later, latching onto a cross and striking the ball past the keeper. Cath Drew scored the third goal after 8 minutes. A free hit found Cath who’s reverse stick shot found the net. Mel completed her hat trick within 10 minutes to make it 4-0. Her fourth and the team’s fifth goal came on 13 minutes from a penalty corner. A minute later Mel struck again to make it 6-0. Vicky Moore made it seven after 23 minutes when she dribbled the ball past a couple of players before hitting a firm shot into the net. Vicky scored again just short of half time, finding herself in space she calmly slotted the ball past the keeper.

A further six goals followed in the second half. The first came when Mel’s shot was deflected off a Hinckley stick and into the net. That made it six goals for Mel in this match. Rebecca Shields scored her first goal of the season to make 10-0 after 45 minutes. Sian Murray scored her first goal of the game after 53 minutes to make it 11-0. It was 12-0 after 60 minutes when Kaz Setchell’s fierce shot proved too much for the opposition keeper. Sian scored her second of the game after 63 minutes and Helen Goodwin wrapped up the game to make it 14-0.
