Charnwood Sileby 2 Match Report
Saturday 13th October – Lutterworth 2
Charnwood Sileby continued their unbeaten start to the season with a hard fought victory over Lutterworth 2.
Charnwood Sileby opened the scoring after just four minutes, Kaz Setchell’s shot proving too good for the Lutterworth keeper. The lead didn’t last long as Lutterworth equalised moments later from a penalty corner. Both teams looked evenly matched and enjoyed spells of possession and it was the away side that took the lead after 23 minutes from a second penalty corner. Charnwood Sileby came straight back at them and scored an equaliser after 28 mins through another well struck shot from Kaz Setchell. The home side continued to press forward and were rewarded just before half time when debutant Mel Swidenbank met a cross-area ball and calmly slotted it by the keeper.
Half Time 3-2
Charnwood Sileby started the second half strongly and extended their lead just three minutes into the half. Cath Drew received the ball left of the goal, turned a defender and then forced a shot past the keeper. Lutterworth refused to give up and pulled a goal back after 43 minutes, but the home side scored again moments later to restore the two-goal cushion. This time Alice Quemby calmly rounded the keeper to finish some fantastic build up play. Charnwood Sileby made it six with the last play of the match. Awarded a penalty corner, the ball was slipped to Mel Swidenback who slotted the ball past keeper.
