The new LRHA Section has been tasked by
England Hockey to implement a“ Single System for
Hockey ‘. The new Development Programme will provide an improved pathway for
young players right up to International level with the moto

The implementation of a ‘A Single System ‘requires a lot of hard work
and some of this has already been undertaken. We still require good Coaches
and not least some volunteers to assist with the organisation and running of
the JAC’s (
Junior Academy Centres ) County Level and the JDC’s ( Junior Development Centres ), below
County Level, so this is a strong plea for more qualified Coaches and
enthusiastic volunteers to come forward. For prospective new players, local hockey
has always been very popular and is successful in our counties because there
of the strong youth base supporting it, though there has always been more
support and development for school aged girls rather than boys. However there
are now several organisations outside school which run specifically for under
18 yr olds, so if you want to know who to contact to join a group in your own
