“Leicester Hockey Club – the most successful women’s club in the country is looking for a 3rd team coach for next season 2008-09. This exciting opportunity to coach our young 3rd team side in the Midlands Conference would suit an up and coming coach (L1 or working towards L2) or someone looking to supplement existing experience with the chance to coach in a bigger club. We are ClubsFirst accredited, and have a highly organised club structure which allows our coaches to focus on the their role. The selected individual would have a 1st aid certificate (or be prepared to go on a course), be willing to be CRB checked, Have a good knowledge of ClubsFirst. They would need some knowledge around team dynamics, sports injury prevention, be up to date with Core Skills and above all make hockey fun.
The role would require a midweek training commitment along with travel home and away on match days around the East Midlands. There may also be the occasional Sunday rearranged fixture or cup match that would need to have a coach present. A small allowance is provided to assist with expenses incurred as a result of travelling. For information, next season we move to play hockey in Great Glen in a purpose built facility with a water based and sand based pitch.
