L+RHA AGM REPORT – Women’s Section.

 

The women’s section business has been completed for a second year without a President - the role having been shared out by the main committee members.  Although not ideal all now have a greater knowledge of the workings of the main association and have maintained a good working presence at those meetings.

 

The majority of matters came from League issues, whereby teams failing to do the easy stuff, making extra work for the Division’s post holders.

 

Financially a long standing bequest from a lady call Pat Luckett has seen 3 recipients this year for not only playing and leadership recognition but also for a level 2 coach.

 

The section also has assisted Leicester Ladies in its need for funding to get the team to the far flung reaches of the European Union, in Baku, Azerbijan.

 

Success on the field has come for teams,

 

  • Leicester Ladies, England Hockey Premier League champions 06/07 as well as Leicester Mercury, and East Midlands Teams of the year
  • Leicester 3 into the Midlands Conference League
  • Charnwood winners of the cup – which may be of small consolation as they drop to Midlands Div 1
  • Hinckley as plate winners adding to their runners up spot in the Midland Conference

 

and individually,

 

  • Lauren Turner and Jess Hughes – both England u18
  • Annie Allum – member of the National young umpire promising list.
